ಡೈನೋಸರ್ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದು !
ಅಧ್ಯಾಯ 6
" ಅದ್ದು! ಇದು ಸಸ್ಯಾಹಾರಿ! ನಮ್ಮನ್ನ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡೋದಿಲ್ಲ!" ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾ ವೃದ್ಧಿ ಅದ್ದುವಿನ ಕೈ ಹಿಡಿದು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದಳು.
" ಅದ್ದು! ಇದು ಸಸ್ಯಾಹಾರಿ! ನಮ್ಮನ್ನ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡೋದಿಲ್ಲ!" ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾ ವೃದ್ಧಿ ಅದ್ದುವಿನ ಕೈ ಹಿಡಿದು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದಳು.
" ಮರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಏಡ್ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ ಅನ್ಸತ್ತೆ! ಹತ್ರ ಬಂದು ಏನ್ಮಾಡತ್ತೋ ಏನೋ ? " ಎಂದಳು ಅದ್ದು.
ಎದುರಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ನಿಂತ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋಸಾರಸ್ ಪಿಳಿ ಪಿಳಿ ಕಣ್ಣು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ನೋಡಿತು. ನಂತರ ಮರಿಗಳಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೊರಳನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಚಾಚಿತು.
" ಅದ್ದು! ಅದನ್ನೂ ಮುದ್ದಿಸಬೇಕಂತೆ ನೋಡು! " ಎಂದ ವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಿಲಕಿಲ ನಕ್ಕಳು.
ಅದ್ದುವಿಗೆ ತಾಯಿ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋವಿನ ಆಕಾರ ಕಂಡು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೆದರಿಕೆ ಆಯಿತು. ಆದರೂ ಧೈರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಬೆರಳುಗಳಿಂದ ಮೆಲ್ಲನೆ ಅದರ ಕೊರಳನ್ನು ಸವರಿದಳು. ಕೆಲವು ನಿಮಿಷಗಳಾದರೂ ಅದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಕದಲುವ ಸೂಚನೆಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲ!
ಮರಿಗಳು ಅದ್ದುವಿನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬಂದು ನಿಂತು ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದ ಅವಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ದೂಡಿದವು. ಆಯ ತಪ್ಪಿದ ಅದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳಿಂದ ತಾಯಿ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋವಿನ ಕೊರಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡಳು. ಅವಳ ಮೈ 'ಝುಮ್' ಎಂದಿತು. ತಾಯಿ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಸರಕ್ಕನೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೊರಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ಮಾಡಿತು! ಅದರ ನೀಳವಾದ ಕೊರಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಅದ್ದು ಸರ ಸರನೆ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಜಾರುತ್ತ ಬಂದು ಕಡೆಗೆ ಅದರ ಬೆನ್ನಮೇಲೆ 'ದೊಪ್' ಎಂದು ಕುಳಿತುಬಿಟ್ಟಳು!
" ಹೇ! ಅದ್ದು! ಅಂತೂ ಇಂತೂ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ಸವಾರಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟೇಬಿಟ್ಟೆ ನೋಡು!" ಎಂದು ನಕ್ಕಳು ವೃದ್ಧಿ.
ಅದ್ದು ದಿಗ್ಬ್ರಾಂತಳಾದಳು !
ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ತನ್ನ ಕೊರಳನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಚಾಚಿತು. ವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಈಗ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿತ್ತು. ಅದರ ಕೊರಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗಳಿಂದ ಬಳಸಿ ಹಿಡಿದಳು. ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ತಲೆ ಎತ್ತಿ ತನ್ನ ಕೊರಳು ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ಮಾಡಿತು. ವೃದ್ಧಿ ಸರ ಸರನೆ ಜಾರುತ್ತ ಬಂದು ಅದ್ದುವಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಕುಳಿತಳು !
" ಅಯ್ಯಯ್ಯೋ! ಇದು ನಡೆಯಕ್ಕೆ ಶುರು ಮಾಡಿಬಿಡ್ತಲ್ಲಾ! " ಡೈನೋಸರ್ ಸವಾರಿಯಿಂದ ಅದ್ದುವಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಧ ಖುಷಿ ! ಅರ್ಧ ಗಾಬರಿ !
" ಮರಿ! ನಿಮ್ಮಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗ್ತಿದ್ದಾಳೆ? "
ಅದ್ದುವಿನ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗೆ ಕುಯುಮ್ ಕುಯುಮ್ ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಮೂರು ಮರಿಗಳೂ ತಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದವು.
ಅಮ್ಮ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ಗುಡುಗಿನಂತೆ ಸಪ್ಪಳ ಮಾಡುತ್ತ ಕಾಡಿನೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಕೆರೆಯಬಳಿ ಸಾಗಿತು.
ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ವಿಮಾನದಂತೆ ಹಾರಿಬಂದ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಚೀರಿದಳು ಅದ್ದು.
" ವೃದ್ಧಿ! ನೋಡು ಹಾರೋ ಡೈನೋಸರ್!"
ಕೆರೆಯ ನೀರಿನ ಹರಹಿನ ಮೇಲೆರಗಿ ಥಟ್ಟನೆ ಮೀನನ್ನು ಕಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಹಾರಿ ಹೋಯಿತು ಆ ಪ್ರಾಣಿ .
" ಅದು ಪ್ಟೆರೋಸಾರ್ (pterosaur) ಅದ್ದು! ಅದರ ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಪುಕ್ಕವೆಲ್ಲ ನೋಡಿದ್ಯಾ? ಬರಿ ಚರ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ನಾಯುಗಳಿಂದ್ಲೇ ಆಗಿವೆ! "ಎಂದಳು ವೃದ್ಧಿ.
ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ಸವಾರಿ ಮುಂದೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಲೇ ಇತ್ತು. ಅದ್ದು ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತ ನೋಡುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದರೂ, ಆಗಿಂದಾಗ್ಯೆ ಮನದಲ್ಲಿ ಟಿ ರೆಕ್ಸ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯ ಭಯ ತಲೆದೋರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ಒಂದು ಮರಳುಗಾಡಿನಂತಹ ಪ್ರದೇಶವನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿತು. ಅದ್ದು ಬೆರಗಾದಳು! ಆ ಮರಳು ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದರೂ ತಾಯಿ, ತಂದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಿ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋಸಾರ್ಗಳೇ! ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಬಂದ ಮರಳುಗುಳಿಗಳು! ಒಂದೊಂದು ಗುಳಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ಐದಾರು ಡೈನೋಸರ್ ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಗಳು!
ಅಮ್ಮ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋವನ್ನು ಕಂಡೊಡನೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋಗಳೂ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದು ಸುತ್ತುವರೆದುಕೊಂಡವು. ತಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಚಾಚಿ ಅದ್ದುವನ್ನೂ ವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನೂ ವಿಚಿತ್ರವಾಗಿ ನೋಡಿದವು. ಅಮ್ಮ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ತನ್ನ ನೀಳವಾದ ಕೊರಳಿನಿಂದ ಅವನ್ನು ನೂಕಿ ದೂರ ತಳ್ಳಿತು. ತನ್ನದ್ದೇ ಆದ ಗುಳಿಯಬಳಿ ಹೋಗಿ ನಿಂತಿತು. ತಲೆ ಬಾಗಿ ಅದ್ದು ಮತ್ತು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯರನ್ನು ಕೆಳಕ್ಕಿಳಿಸಿತು.
" ವೃದ್ಧಿ! ಎಷ್ಟೊಂದು ಡೈನೋಸರ್ ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಗಳು! " ಎನ್ನುತ್ತ ಅದ್ದು ಕುತೂಹಲದಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಒಂದು ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿ ನೋಡಿದಳು.
ಅಮ್ಮ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ನೋಡುತ್ತ ನಿಂತಿತು.
ಅದ್ದು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಧೈರ್ಯ ತಂದುಕೊಂಡಳು. ಮೆಲ್ಲನೆ ಆ ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಗೆತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ತಿರುಗಿಸಿ ಮುರಿಗಿಸಿ ನೋಡಿದಳು. ನಂತರ ಮರಳ ಗೂಡಿನಲ್ಲೇ ವಾಪಸು ಇಡಲು ಹೋದಳು. ಅಮ್ಮ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅದ್ದುವಿನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ತಿವಿಯಿತು.
" ಅದ್ದು! ಆ ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೊಡ್ತಿದೆ ಅನ್ಸತ್ತೆ! " ಎಂದಳು ವೃದ್ಧಿ.
" ನನಗಾ? ಈ ಮೊಟ್ಟೆ ನನಗೇನಾ? " ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಎದೆಗವಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಅಮ್ಮ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಳು ಅದ್ದು.
ಅಮ್ಮ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ತನ್ನ ಕೊರಳನ್ನು ಅದ್ದುವಿನ ಬಳಿ ಚಾಚಿತು. ಅದ್ದು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ಸವರಿದಳು. ಮರಿಗಳೂ ಕುಯ್ ಕುಯ್ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತ ಅದ್ದುವಿನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನೀವಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವು.
" ಅದ್ದು! ನಿನಗೆ ತೃಪಿಯಾಯಿತಾ? ಡೈನೋಸರ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಸುತ್ತಾಡ್ಬೇಕಾ ? " ಎಂದು ನಗುತ್ತ ಕೇಳಿದಳು ವೃದ್ಧಿ.
" ಸಾಕಪ್ಪ! ಟಿ ರೆಕ್ಸ್ ಬರೋದ್ರೊಳಗೆ ಹೊರಡೋಣ! " ಎಂದಳು ಅದ್ದು.
ಅಮ್ಮ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋವನ್ನೂ ಮರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಮುದ್ದಿಸಿದಳು ಅದ್ದು. ಅಮ್ಮ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಮೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಚೀಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಭದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಇರಿಸಿದಳು.
ವೃದ್ಧಿ ತನ್ನ ಬೆನ್ನ ಚೀಲದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಮಂತ್ರದ ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಹೊರ ತೆಗೆದಳು. ಅವಳ ಸುತ್ತ ಪ್ರಭಾವಲಯ ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಇಬ್ಬರು ಗೆಳೆತಿಯರೂ ಮಂತ್ರದ ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾದರು. ಮರು ಕ್ಷಣ ಬಿರ್ರೆಂದು ಬಂದ ಸುಂಟರಗಾಳಿ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ದೋಚಿಕೊಂಡು ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿತು.
ತಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತ ಎಲ್ಲ ಬ್ರಾಂಟೋಗಳೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬೀಳ್ಗೊಡುವಂತೆ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಊಳಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ಶಂಖ ನಾದದಂತೆ ಕೇಳಿಸಿತು!

CHAPTER 6
“Addu! Don’t be afraid” Said Vriddhi, holding her hand “These are Herbivores and eat only plant food.”
“ I know that ….but , I feel the Mother may be upset because I stuck Band Aids on her babies! Who knows what it will do ? ”
The Mother Bronto came closer. But did not seem angry. It lowered its neck and offered its chin to be tickled, just like the babies!
“See it only wants to be petted !”
Though the huge size of the Mother Bronto scared Addu a little, she put out her hand and ran it lovingly along its neck. The Bronto stood enjoying it. And did not move away even after many minutes ….
The Babies who were skipping behind Addu, now nudged her towards their mother. Addu tumbled forward. And to gain balance, she threw her hands around Mother Bronto’s neck.
Immediately, the mother raised its neck straight up. This made Addu slide down the neck and she landed “Plop” on its back!
“Great , Addu !” Clapped Vriddhi, “So you finally managed to become a Dino Rider !!!”
Addu was wonderstruck.
Now, Mother Bronto lowered its neck again, towards Vriddhi.
She knew perfectly well what it wanted! She got hold of its neck and as soon as it lifted its head straight up, slid down to land in front of Addu !
“ It’s walking!” Cried Addu, partly in excitement, partly in fear.
“ I wonder where it is taking us! ” added Vriddhi.
As the Bronto walked slowly into the forest with heavy steps, the babies skipped along behind it.
Just as the girls were beginning to enjoy the ride, a very large animal flew over them like a black aeroplane.
“ That’s a Pterosaur, Addu. The flying Dino!” said Vriddhi. “ Did you see its Wings? Only skin and muscles. No feathers.”
After a long walk, the Bronto reached a desert like place. And it was full of Bronto families …...Mother Brontos, Father Brontos, Baby Brontos…..There were many small sand pits. In every pit were five or six Dino eggs!
When Mother Bronto arrived with the girls, all the Brontos looked up at them curiously.
Mother Bronto lowered its head for the girls to get down.
“ Vriddhi look! A million Dino Eggs!!! ”
Addu ran to the nearest pit in excitement and touched an egg in wonder.
Mother Dino just stood watching her.
Encouraged, Addu carefully lifted up the egg and held it in both hands like a treasure.
After admiring it, she lowered it, wanting to put it back in the pit.
But Mother Bronto pushed the egg with its snout, back into her hands!
“ Oh ! Bronto wants you to keep it, Addu ! ” Declared Vriddhi.
“ What ? I can keep it ??? For ME ???
Mother Bronto gently lowered its head and rubbed against her. Addu happily placed the egg gifted by Bronto in a safe place in her bag.
“ Addu, Do you want to explore more of the forest? ” Asked Vriddhi.
“ No! No! It is enough. Let us go away from here, before another T.Rex appears! ”
Vriddhi took out her Magic Wand. A golden Halo surrounded her. Both girls held on to the Wand.
The next moment, a whirlwind appeared and swept them up.
As they flew away, all the Brontosaurs on the desert patch lifted their heads and let out a loud trumpeting, that seemed to say “Goodbye”.
